The design of the Modèle Elan is based on the earliest models created by the Selmer Company under the direction of Mario Maccaferri. This instrument utilizes a short scale length in combination with a 12 fret neck join and the 'grande bouche' D-shaped soundhole.
Tonally, this instrument offers a rich, warm sound with complimentary overtones that are often described as being similar to a classical guitar.
